Encik Zainal Abidin bin Jamal

Encik Zainal Abidin bin Jamal (“Encik Zainal”) is an advocate and solicitor by profession. He founded Messrs Zainal Abidin & Co. Advocates & Solicitors on 2 November 1987 and is currently a Senior Partner with the firm. He is an empanelled arbitrator of Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) since 2004 and he served as a member of the AIAC Advisory Council between July 2019 and January 2021. He is a member of the Shariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia since June 2020.
Encik Zainal is currently a non-independent and non-executive Director of Sime Darby Plantation Berhad and Prominent Beauty Sdn Bhd. and Chairman of Sime Darby Oils International Limited. He is also the Chairman of Global Humanitarian Fund, a Company Limited by Guarantee incorporated in the United Kingdom and he is one of the founding trustees of For Every Child Foundation Registered. He has previously held other directorships on the boards of various public listed companies, public companies and private limited companies in the manufacturing, plantation, property development, banking and finance, and transportation industries.
Encik Zainal served in the Singapore Armed Forces between December 1972 and June 1975. He later read law at the University of Singapore between June 1975 and April 1979, and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Singapore and enrolled as an Advocate & Solicitor, Supreme Court of Singapore in 1980. In June 1980, he served as a First Class Magistrate, Judicial Department, Brunei and was enrolled as an Advocate & Solicitor in Brunei in 1982. Encik Zainal later served as the Company Secretary of Harissons Malaysian Plantations Berhad between August 1983 and April 1986. He was enrolled as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court, States of Malaya in November 1986.
Datuk Yusran Shah bin Mohd Yusof

Datuk Yusran Shah bin Mohd Yusof (“Datuk Yusran”) is the 18th Secretary-General of Education, Ministry of Education Malaysia. Datuk Yusran Shah has 25 years of extensive experience in the field of economics, human resources development and security.
Among the positions he has held in the civil service including Assistant Director in the Prime Minister’s Department; Principal Assistant Director at the Economic Planning Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department; Principal Private Secretary, Office of the Minister of Education Malaysia; Deputy Secretary-General (Policy and Control), Ministry of Home Affairs and Deputy Secretary-General (Security), Ministry of Home Affairs.
Datuk Yusran graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Economics from the University of Malaya and holds a Master of Economics degree from the International University of Japan.
Datuk Hajah Nor Zamani Abdol Hamid

YBhg. Datin Sri Hajah Nor Zamani Abdol Hamid, is the 18th Director General of Education (DG Education) and the third woman to be appointed to that position effective 22 June 2021. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Sociology and Anthropology as well as a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Malaya.
Her service in education started in 1986 as the Head of the A-Level Department at Tunku Kurshiah College, Negeri Sembilan. During her 35 years of service, she has served in various divisions in MOE. Among the positions she has held are Deputy Director General of Education Malaysia (Policy and Curriculum Sector), Director of Curriculum Development Division and Director of Private Education Division.
Tan Sri Abd Ghafar bin Mahmud

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abd Ghafar bin Mahmud was previously the Director General of Education, Ministry of Education of Malaysia. Beginning as a teacher in 1977 within the Malaysian Education Officer Service, he further developed his career by serving in various capacities and levels in school, State Education Department and the Ministry of Education. He served as a school principal from 1998 to 2001. In 2001 he was appointed as a Principal Assistant Director in School Division of the Ministry of Education and was progressively promoted as the head of various divisions in the ministry i.e. the Director of Sports Division, Chief Inspector of the School Inspectorate Division and Director of the Institute Aminuddin Baki (educational leadership training centre).
The most significant contribution of Tan Sri Abd Ghafar to Malaysia’s education system development is his role as taskforce leader in formulating the Malaysia Education Blueprint (2013-2025). The blueprint has come to be the main agenda of Malaysian government educational policy, a legacy he left to safeguard and prosper the education of future generation.
On his retirement, he was appointed by Minister of Education as Chairman of National Book Council and Chairman of Kota Buku Corporation. The Ministry has also appointed him as an advisor for a special project i.e. the Fully Residential Schools as well as a board member of PADU (Education Performance Delivery Unit) under the Ministry of Education.
Currently he is the Chairman of Genovasi University College Council, Chairman of Genovasi Foundation, Chairman of Yayasan Sarana Pendidikan (NGO), Members of the Board of Trustees for Yayasan Telekom Malaysia dan Yayasan Tenaga Nasional.
Tan Sri Abd Ghafar also heads the taskforce group in formulating a special project called GENOSIS. The project was funded by EPU to improve classroom delivery system emphasises on inquiry based learning.
In recognition of his service to the nation he was awarded the AAP (2002), DIMP (2008), SSAP (2011) by DYMM Sultan Pahang and PSM (2012) by DYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di Pertuan Agong. As a government servant he also was awarded with the Excellence Service Award in 1993, 1994 and 2005.
Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Dzulkifli Abdul Razak

Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak (“Tan Sri Dzul”) is currently the Rector of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He was the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) from 2000-to 2011. He is the immediate past president of the International Association of Universities (IAI), a UNESCO-affiliated organisation in Paris. He was the Convenor of the Regional Centre for Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development based in USM, one of 7 pioneering centres worldwide, beginning in 2005. Tan Sri Dzul was awarded the prestigious 2017 Gilbert Medal by Universitas 21 in recognition of “his long term commitment to a sustainable approach to international higher education”. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (F ASc), the World Academy of Art and Science (FWAAS) and the World Academy of Islamic Management (FWAIM).

He holds a BSc. degree in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University, USA. and MSc. degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University, USA.
Encik Yuzaidi Yusoff serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, the first pure-play full-fledged Islamic financial institution listed in the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia.
He serves as the Chairman of the Board Strategic and Sustainability Committee at Bank Islam. He is also a member of the Board Audit Committee, Board Risk Committee and Board IT Committee of the said bank.

Datuk Mohd Anwar bin Yahya (“Datuk Mohd Anwar”) is a qualified accountant and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
He obtained his Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in in Economics and Accountancy, University of Hull, United Kingdom and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
Datuk Mohd Anwar started his career as an Audit Trainee at Touche & Ross in 1978. After he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980, he continued working at Touche & Ross until 1982. In April 1982, he joined Lembaga Kemajuan Kelantan Selantan (KESEDAR) as a Finance Manager, in charge of the Finance division, until June 1985. After that, he joined Permodalan Kelantan Bhd (PKB), the investment arm of SEDC Kelantan Group of Companies as CEO. Thereafter, in 1997, he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia as Director of the technology group in consulting business. He continued with PwC Malaysia for more than 25 years, and his last position was as Partner and Senior Director.

Encik Salsuriya bin Selamat (“Encik Salsuriya”) currently holds the position of Registrar of Credit Reporting Agencies at the Ministry of Finance. Since the beginning of his career in the civil service, Encik Salsuriya has spent 20 years in various positions covering domestic and international trade and investment promotion strategy and growth, where he played a major part in improving public delivery system focusing on measures to advance our industries.
Energized by each new challenge he embraces collaboration to create solutions and solve problems to generate positive outcomes and spur economic growth. He values interrelation approaches, recognizing the complementary roles that public service, professionals, academics, and societies must play in nation building. Encik Salsuriya has a Degree (Hons) in Business Administration, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM); Master’s in Corporate Communication, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and a Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN).
He joined the public service as a Diplomatic and Administrative Officer in 2002. From 2002 to 2009, he rose from the rank of Assistant Director to Principal Assistant Director of the Domestic Trade Division in the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs. In 2011, he was appointed the State Director of the domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs of Perlis for a year. Thereafter, he returned to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs as the Principal Assistant Director of the Delivery Management Office. From 2013 to 2015, he served as the Senior Principal Assistant Director in the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. Encik Salsuriya then moved to the Development & Administration Section, Remuneration Policy and Management Division in the Ministry of Finance. In 2018, he became the Head of Investment Incentives Section, Tax Division in the Ministry of Finance. Later, he was transferred to come the Head of GST/SST Policy and Implementation Section, Tax Division of the Ministry of Finance. He was appointed as Registrar in March 2021.
