Rational & Ambition

  • 60% of current Education Service Officers will continue to continue their service for the next 15 years.
  • Teacher Charter as one of the MOE’s initiatives to ensure that high quality education service officers will continue to perform through out their career

Outcomes

  • Education service officers are able to improve their competencies by attending continuous professional development.
  • Career paths for education service officers are attractive and are based on performance and competency.
  • Malaysian teachers fulfilling standards and adhering to the stipulated ethic standards.

#24 Expansion of Literacy and Numeracy Screening 2.0 to Include English Literacy

Vision

  • Level 1 pupils to acquire basic literacy skills in Malay Language, English Language and Numeracy after 3 years of primary education except for pupils with special needs.

Rational & Ambition

  • Level 1 pupils acquire basic literacy skills in Malay Language and English Language as well as numeracy skills after 3 years of primary education.
  • Improve pedagogical effectiveness of Malay Language, English Language and Mathematics teachers, mainly in aspects of Malay Language, English Language and Mathematics remediation to produce interesting, effective and quality teaching and learning.
  • Provide continuous coaching and mentoring to Head teachers and teachers.
  • Suitable intervention according to teachers’ and pupils’ needs..
  • Track pupils with special needs in the main streams through Outreach programmes.
  • Carry out remedial intervention in schools for pupils who have not achieved the required levels in the LINUS2.0 screenings .
  • Implement LINUS2.0 Roadshow for Head teachers in specified districts (hotspots).
  • Review LINUS2.0 Screenings and usage of the LINUS2.0 Programme Pupils’ Modules.
  • Re-evaluate the verification method of pupils’ acquisition level.

Outcomes

  • 100% Level 1 pupils to acquire basic literacy skills in Malay Language and English Language as well as numeracy skills after 3 years of primary education except for pupils with special needs.

  • Quality education in SKM with optimal operating cost

Rational & Ambition

  • 30% of schools in Malaysia have an enrolment of less than 150 students.
  • The cost of each student in SKM is two times (2x) higher than students in schools with enrolment greater than 150.

Vision

  • Students who are gifted will have the opportunity to education befitting their capability and ability.

Rational & Ambition

  • To produce and develop the potential of gifted students who are able to contribute to the development of the nation at young age, in respective fields and industries.
  • To generate highly specialised human resource to spur new technological inventions and innovations.
  • This initiative is pertinent as there is no current programme addressing the needs of gifted and talented students.
